Airman Adam Volle of Mt. Pulaski is home on leave after an overseas tour
with the USAF.  He is a Crew Chief assigned to B-1 Bombers.
Over the weekend of the this past 4th of July, he arranged to have a U.S.
Flag flown aboard "his bomber"  - the B-1 A5059 - during combat sorties over
enemy combatants in Afghanistan. The bomber flew four sorties and the Flag
was in flight 45-hours. During the combat support flight, eight 2,000-pound
bombs and twelve 500-pound bombs were dropped on the enemy.
In his overseas deployment, Adam was assigned to the 9th Expeditionary Bomb
Squadron.  He has served in the Air Force for three years.
Following this 4th-of-July mission, Adam decided to present the Flag to his
home-town American Legion, Mt. Pulaski Post #447.
