Local costumed actors
portrayed people who have
been important to the
development of Mount Pulaski
The
Christian Church Bus picked
up the cemetery walkers on
the west side of the square.
Tickets for the 30-minute
tour were $5 each.
Jane DeWitt, chairperson of
the cemetery walk, is also
president of the Mount
Pulaski Township Historical
Society. The Mount Pulaski
Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial
200th
Birthday Committee sponsored
the walk.

The walk included the graves
of:
Clarence Mayer, founder of
TKE Fraternity at Illinois
Weslelyan University
(portrayed by Deron Powell)

Prudence Capps Beidler, the
first white child born in
Mount Pulaski
(portrayed by her
great-great-granddaughter,
Delores Maxheimer)

Imogene Beidler Swaim, the
mother of the Swaim triplets
(portrayed by Torrie Cass)
Herman
Romer, owner of the Romer
Saloon, the site of the
Mount Pulaski Township
Historical Society
(portrayed by his
great-nephew, Bob Romer)
Reuben
Hershey, proprietor of the
first local furniture store,
who was also an undertaker
(portrayed by Bob McCue).
