A pair of tornadoes that tore through Loami and Williamsville in Sangamon County and rural homes and farm fields in Logan County on Aug. 19 caused more than $13 million worth of structural damage, according to official reports.

After a tornado devastated the north side of Williamsville Wednesday afternoon, the storm raged into southern Logan County, where it caused millions of dollars worth of damage to farmsteads.

WILLIAMSVILLE — Two days after a tornado flattened the Route 66 Antique Mall, vendors were looking through the remains Friday, trying to identify any piece of merchandise that was theirs as the mall’s owners handed the items to them. Vendors themselves weren’t allowed inside the foundation perimeter because of insurance concerns.
