3 Dec., 2014 The Courier:  Warrensburg-Latham boys basketball coach Vic Binkley picked up many things from Ed Butkovich during his time at Mount Pulaski - The ball press among them. That came back to haunt Mount Pulaski Tuesday night at the newly-dedicated Ed Butkovich Gymnasium. The Toppers committed 15 turnovers and fell to Warrensburg-Latham 62-40.  "That’s what we try to take pride in," Binkley said. "We want to hold teams under 40."  Binkley assisted Butkovich before taking over the Cardinals’ program in 1986.  "He was a big part of my career," Binkley said. "I owe a lot to Ed and the ball press and everything he taught me about basketball. It was bittersweet. We’re here and it’s a business. We definitely want to win basketball games, but we also know it was a special night for Mount Pulaski."
