 kernal much like computer wires to each computer
on a network.  The silks are hallow like a straw and the pollen travels up these "silk tubes" to pollinate the kernals.

July 1-silk pests (Japanese Beetle).  They like eating the silks after they get full of pollen.  Hopefully, most of the pollination is done by the time the beetles get to it.
