CHESTNUT -- Ruth J. Hughes, age 84 of Chestnut died at Decatur Memorial Hospital at 1:40 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2005.

There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday November 4 at Leanna Cemetery, Chestnut. Norman McCormick will preside. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She was born on January 25, 1921 in rural Mt. Pulaski to Herman and Verna Davison Heft. She married John D. Hughes in Covington, IN on January 2, 1940.

Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and a member of Chestnut Zion Lutheran Church.

She was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one daughter and one granddaughter.
