MOUNT PULASKI -- Robert E. Steinfort, 87, of Mount Pulaski died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at 10:45 p.m. at his home. A private family service with military rites will be at a later date. The Rev. Mark Carnahan will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski is handling arrangements. Mr. Steinfort was a retired businessman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was born Feb. 5, 1918, at Mondovi, Wis., to C.E. and Anna Syverson Steinfort. He married Rosemary Graham in Lincoln on Aug. 26, 1943. He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; one son, Scott (and Kay) Steinfort of Lincoln; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One sister, Clarine Jones, preceded him in death. He was a registered professional engineer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski Emergency Medical Services.
