CHESTNUT -- Mildred June Allen, 80, of Chestnut, formerly of Roseville, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at 6:04 p.m. at the Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home of Clinton.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Laenna Cemetery, rural Chestnut.

Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Allen was retired as a registered nurse. She had worked 25 years at LaMoine Christian Nursing Home in Roseville.

She was born June 6, 1925, in Marysville, Kan., to the late William and Waty Rickie Ferrell.

She is survived by one daughter, Laura (and James) Allen of Chestnut; one son, Daniel Allen of Smithville, Mo.; two grandsons, Shawn Duke of Atlanta and Jeremy Allen of Smithville, Mo.; one granddaughter, Jamie Huff of Smithville, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Frances and son James William Colgrove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
