with military rites, will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was a grain elevator manager in Mount Pulaski and
Girard and a grain inspector for the state of Illinois.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Williamsville to Orville E. and
Marjiella Jones Martin. He married Margaret Fullriede on Oct. 20,
1946. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 1997. He married Kay
Greer in Cantrall on Oct. 17, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, of Springfield; two sons, Roger
Martin of Springfield and Randall Martin of St. Louis, Mo.; two
daughters, Connie (and Daniel) Lanham of Odon, Ind., and Penny (and
Art) Karrick of Auburn; one sister, Margaret (and Donald) Baker of
Mount Pulaski; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield.
He had a lifetime membership with the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire
Department.
Memorials may be made to Spark for Residential Homes in
Springfield or to Hope School.
