Charles
"Charlie" Lewis Conaway, 71, of Lincoln died
Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Maple Ridge Care
Centre.
A memorial service for Mr. Conaway will be at
11 a.m. Monday at Holland Barry & Bennett
Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Shaw of Lincoln
Southern Baptist Church officiating. |

Burial will be in at Mount Pulaski Cemetery at a
later date.
Mr. Conaway worked in construction most of
his life.
He was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Lincoln to the
late Lewis and Gladys Goodman Conaway. He
married Margaret Kingsley on June 24, 1955.
Surviving are his wife, of Lincoln; two
daughters, Keena (and Keith) Roos of Lincoln and
Konda Hatfield of Lincoln; four grandchildren,
Jake Williams, Hannah Williams, Bo Hatfield and
Ashlee Hatfield; two stepgrandchildren, Autumn
Roos and Summer Roos; a
step-great-granddaughter, Trinity Morgan; one
brother Larry (and Shirley) Conaway of Mount
Pulaski; and one sister, Deloris (and Walter)
Bryson of Lake Fork.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one
daughter, Kellie Jo Conaway; and one sister,
Nancy Wilham.
He enjoyed fishing and loved to be surrounded
by his children and grandchildren. |
His seven-year struggle with illness was a
testament to his strength and determination.
Today he has a new heavenly body and a renewed
spirit. He will be missed and thought of often
by his family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the family
and will be accepted at the funeral home.
