Carl F. Stahl
MOUNT PULASKI - Carl F. Stahl, 94, Mount Pulaski, formerly of Dunlap,
died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 1, 2008) at Vonderlieth Living Center
of Mount Pulaski.
A private family service will be at a later date. The Rev. Mark Drews
will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
Visitation will be private.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church or School.
He was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Dunlap, the son of Karl Louis and Rose
Geiger Stahl. He married Bernice E. Hoerr on Oct. 14, 1945, in Peoria.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, Mount Pulaski; one son, C. Lewis
Stahl, Springfield; three daughters, Christine (Russell) Price, Park
Rapids, Minn.; Gretchen (Duane) Nelson, Sioux City, Iowa; and Carla
(Michael) Kopec, Springfield; nine grandchildren, Jenny and Adam Stahl;
Joseph, Clayton and Alexander Price; Hans and Seth Nelson; and Grant and
Gretchen Kopec; one brother, Frederick (Eleanor) Stahl, Mount Pulaski;
and one sister, Ida Warner, Streator.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
He was a member of Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church.
He was a farmer in Dunlap until 1953, co-founder with his brothers
Frederick and Edwin of Stahl's Hardware, Furniture and Implement and
later part owner with his son, C. Lewis Stahl.
