MOUNT
PULASKI -- James A. Jackson, 89, of Mount
Pulaski, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at 3:15
a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at
Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski, with the
Rev. Glenn Strohschein officiating. Visitation
will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. |

Burial will be in Graceland-Fairlawn Cemetery,
Decatur.
Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
Mr. Jackson was a retired farmer.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to
1945 during World War II.
He was born March 4, 1920, in Lincoln to
Abner and Elizabeth Ophardt Jackson. He married
Marilyn Luebke in Mount Pulaski in April 1948.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski;
two sons, Gary William (and Linda) Jackson of
Latham and Ronald (and Patty) Jackson of Peoria
Heights; grandchildren Ben (and Rachel) Jackson,
Sarah (and Andy) Wheeler, Rebekah Jackson, Laura
Jackson, Andrew Jackson and Kari Jackson;
stepgrandchildren Jared (and Bri) Park, Trent
(and Jamie) Park and Jill Park; two
great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Earl
Jackson of Mount Pulaski, Roy Jackson of
Chestnut and George Jackson of Centralia, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one daughter,
Gayle, and an infant grandson. |
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of
Mount Pulaski, where he was a trustee and elder.
He served on the Latham Elevator board, on
the board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and was
past president of the board of education for
Mount Pulaski Grade School.
He was a loving, devoted husband who was very
special.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski EMS or
Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski.
