Robert 'Bob' Fuiten

MOUNT
PULASKI -- Robert "Bob" Frederick Fuiten,
82, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at 10:22 p.m.
at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski, with Masonic services being conducted.
Ron Otto and Bill Shanle will co-officiate.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the
funeral home. |

Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount
Pulaski, with military rites.
Mr. Fuiten retired from farming in the
Chestervale and Lake Fork area.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean
War as a corporal policeman in the 341st M.P.
Company.
He was born Oct. 16, 1927, at Lake Fork. His
parents were Frederick Calvin and Hilma Lois
Gaffney Fuiten. He married Ruth Ann Cherry on
March 7, 1954, at the Lake Fork Christian
Church.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski;
three sons, Gregory (and Margie) Fuiten of
Atlanta, Robert Kent (and Kim) Fuiten of Sherman
and Brian (and Pam) Fuiten of Lincoln; eight
grandchildren, Heather (and Sean) McCormick,
Chris Fuiten, Jamie Fuiten, Tonya Fuiten, Matt
(and Melissa) Fuiten, Allyson (and Grant)
Bradley, Derek Wicker and Audrey Fuiten; one
great-granddaughter, Chloe McCormick; two
sisters, Louise (and Charles) Bohn of Cornland
and Betty (and Charles) Holmes of Mount Pulaski;
and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Fuiten of Mount
Pulaski.
He was also preceded in death by one brother,
Dale Fuiten, and an infant sister, Joyce Fuiten. |
He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church
in Lincoln, Mount Pulaski American Legion Post
447, Mount Pulaski Masonic Lodge AF & AM 87,
Logan County Shriners and the Springfield
Consistory.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski EMS,
Lincoln Christian Church and Shriners Hospitals
for Children.
