MOUNT PULASKI -- Lois Marie Horchem, 75, of Mount Pulaski died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at 11:15 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Bill Shanle officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Harrisburg.

Ms. Horchem had been a clerk at Perk Up and Witzig's in Lincoln and a homemaker for Community Action of Logan County.

She was born Dec. 22, 1928, in Harrisburg to Arlie and Ressie Mae Belford Joyner.

She is survived by two sons, James (and Christy) Luster of Mount Pulaski and Richard (and Shelley) Luster of Lincoln; one daughter, Peggy (and LaVerne) Winters of Elizabethtown; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Irene (and Ron) Whitlock of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

EMDEN -- John V. Smallwood, 86, of Emden died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at 10:45 a.m. at Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Cemetery, rural Emden, with Chad Ragsdale officiating.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Smallwood was a retired grain and dairy farmer.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born Oct. 30, 1918, at Emden to H. Verl and Litta Jones Smallwood.

He is survived by two sisters, Manie Jeckel of Emden and Eunice (and Bill) Bean of Geneseo; two nieces; and two nephews.

He was a member of the Emden Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

MASON CITY -- Winifred Irene Tucker, 84, of Mason City died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at 10:45 a.m. at her home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Mason City, with the Rev. Stephen King officiating.

Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.

Mrs. Tucker worked as a bookkeeper for over 20 years for Brooks Motor Company in Mason City.

She was born Dec. 8, 1919, to Luther A. and Virgie Hovey Jones on the family farm in rural Easton. She married Russell Tucker on Aug. 13, 1938, in Clayton, Mo.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Patricia Ann (and Larry) Wayman of Indianapolis, Ind., and Peggy Jo (and Daniel) Thomas of Mason City; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne Jones of Easton and Stanley (and Mary) Jones of Pontiac.

One sister, Wanetta Salisbury, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Tucker was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mason City and the Women's Club at the church. She was also a member of the Ostomy Club in Inverness, Fla. She was a former group leader for 4-H and competed in baked goods contests at the Illinois State Fair.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to the American Cancer Society.

ROCHESTER -- Cade Parker McShane, infant son of Charles and Tanya Corgliano McShane, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at 2:10 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

A private family service will be at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Joe Bennett officiating.

Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.

Cade was born Oct. 23, 2004, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his parents, of Rochester; his maternal grandparents, Wanda and Perry Winebrinner of Lincoln and Tony Corgliano of Lincoln; his paternal grandparents, Susan and James Zumwalt of Fort Worth, Texas; and maternal great-grandparents Warren and Wava Robinson of Lincoln and Miss Ernie Parker of Eldorado, Ark.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.
