Archived May 17, 2005 MOUNT PULASKI -- Marjorie D. Lowe Marquis, 89, of Mount Pulaski, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at 2:20 p.m. at her home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carol Andricks and the Rev. Steven Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery. Mrs. Marquis was a housekeeper at Vonderlieth Living Center before she retired. She was born Dec. 19, 1915, in rural Kenney to Ernest and Tena Severs Donnan. She married Lawrence Lowe in Clinton on Feb. 25, 1937. He died Oct. 9, 1971. She married Elmer Marquis in Springfield on May 20, 1978, and he died Jan. 13, 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Howe of Mount Pulaski and Joyce (and Jerry) Maxheimer of Mount Pulaski; four grandchildren, Robin (and Warren) Ray of Mars Hill, N.C., Tammy (and Kevin) Holmes of Bloomington, Julie (and Tim) Milner of Mount Pulaski and Doug (and Angie) Maxheimer of Mount Pulaski; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (and Helen) Donnan of Lincoln; and two sisters, Evelyn Bateman of Lincoln and Edna (and Jim) Strachan of Chestnut. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Donnan and Alvin Donnan; one sister, Doris Baldwin; and one grandson, Tony Howe. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Pulaski. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mount Pulaski, St. John's Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski or Hospice Care of Illinois.
