Evelyn Remmert Send a link to a friend Archived June 24, 2005 LINCOLN -- Evelyn M. Remmert, 90, formerly of Chestnut, died Friday, June 24, 2005, at 7:15 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Wallace Reifsteck officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery. Mrs. Remmert was a mental health technician at Lincoln Developmental Center for 30 years. She was born Jan. 17, 1915, at Shobonier to George and Tillie Schmidt Gable. She married Edward A. Remmert at Shobonier on Feb. 8, 1936. He died Dec. 30, 1988. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (and Darrell) Payne of Morton and Valera (and Harry) Milner of Sherman; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Dick Gable of Lincoln, Jerry (and Phyllis) Gable of Vandalia and Wayne Gable of Decatur; and one sister, Charlotte Fisher of Effingham.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and one granddaughter. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Rebekah Lodge 9 and Eagles Lodge 2708 Auxiliary.
