MASON CITY -- Ethel Mae
Schoonover, 94, of Mason City died Sunday, April
10, 2005, at 1:30 a.m. at her home.
Her funeral will be at 11
a.m. Thursday at the Mason City United Methodist
Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial of ashes will be in
Mason City Cemetery.
Mrs. Schoonover was a
homemaker for her family.
She was born March 25,
1911, at Milltown, Ky., to John Wesley and
Minnie Beard Skaggs. She married Robert J.
Schoonover in Teheran on Dec. 27, 1933. He
preceded her in death.
She is survived by four
daughters, Ann Bowles of Mason City, Janet
Schoonover of Mason City, Patricia (and Roger)
Jones of Mesa, Ariz., and Martha (and Don) Scaff
of Wyoming, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in
death by three brothers, four sisters, one
granddaughter and one son-in-law.
She was a member of the
Mason City United Methodist Church and a past
member of the Mason County Home Extension.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the Mason City United Methodist
Church or American Lung Association.

Anabelle Grace Leininger, 4 months, of Mason
City, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at 4:50 a.m.
at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Her funeral will
be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in
Mason City. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
Burial will be
in Mason City Cemetery.
Anabelle was
born Dec. 6, 2004, in Lincoln to Damon Leininger
and Tabitha Renee Cummings.
She is survived
by her parents, both of Mason City; one brother,
Lukas Leininger of Mason City; her maternal
grandparents, Nick and Theresa Otten of Mason
City; and one uncle, Nick Otten of Mason City.
Memorial
contributions may be made to the Anabelle
Leininger Memorial Fund at the First State Bank
of Mason City.

MOUNT PULASKI --
Lois Irene Wines, 68, of Mount Pulaski died
Friday, April 8, 2005, at 10:40 p.m. at Maple
Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.
She retired from
employment with the state of Illinois. She also
worked as a CNA at Vonderleith Living Center and
was a mother and homemaker.
Her funeral will
be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Veail Chapel,
Steenbergen Cemetery, with Bill Shanle
officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior
to the service.
Burial will be
Steenbergen Cemetery.

Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Mount Pulaski
handled arrangements.
She was born
Sept. 29, 1936, at St. Peter to Edward Everett
and Mabel Elma McCormick Pruett. She married
Raymond Laverne Wines in Clinton on April 12,
1952. He died Sept. 11, 1998.
She is survived
by four daughters, Verna (and Barry) Leach of
Mount Pulaski, Patty (and Lee) Koenig of
Chestnut, Sharon (and Ernest) Keppler of
Riverton, Debbie (and Rico) Perez of San Diego,
Calif.; five grandchildren; one sister, Ruth
Qualls of Temple, Texas; and one uncle, Don (and
Ruth) McCormick of Mount Pulaski.
She was also
preceded in death by her parents, two brothers
and two sisters.
She was of the
Christian faith.
She was a member
of Royal Neighbors of America, TOPS and was a
Girl Scout leader.
Memorials may be
made to Mount Pulaski Fire Department,
Alzheimer's research, Hospice Care of Illinois
or Maple Ridge Care Centre.

McLEAN -- Marjorie J. Semprini, 83, of
McLean, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at 10:29
p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in
Normal.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at
the McLean Christian Church, with Tony
Billingsley officiating. Visitation will be one
hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in McLean Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta is handling
arrangements.
Mrs. Semprini was a homemaker for her family.
She was born June 11, 1921, at Atlanta to Asa
and Martha Phillips Kindred. She married Mike
Semprini on Aug. 12, 1946, in Chicago.
She is survived by her husband; one son,
Michael Semprini of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; one
daughter, Mary Ellen Nowling of Milton, Fla.;
four grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and
three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
McLean Rescue Squad.

Odessa Kay Hulvey, 71, of Armington, died
Friday, April 8, 2005, at 9:33 a.m. at Hopedale
Medical Complex, Hopedale.
Visitation will
be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Quiram Funeral
Home in Atlanta.
Her funeral will
be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stanford Church of
God.
Burial will be
in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Stanford.
Mrs. Hulvey
worked as a nurse's aide for 30 years. She was
employed at Short Nursing Home in Atlanta,
Bartmann Nursing Home in rural Atlanta and the
Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.
She was born
June 13, 1933, at Lincoln, Neb., to Elmer M. and
Florence R. Hunter Johnson. She married Solomon
Franklin Hulvey on June 30, 1953, at Stanford.
He died Nov. 9, 1999.
She is survived
by two sons, Jonathan (and Terry) Hulvey of
Atlanta and Thomas (and Becky) Hulvey of Peoria;
six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Deloris (and Roy) Strohkirch of
DeWitt and Wanda Jean Elsner of Armington; and
two brothers, Merle (and Patricia) Johnson of
Eurka and Bill (and Pat) Johnson of Clinton.
She was also
preceded in death by one son, Joseph Wade Hulvey,
and one grandson, Joe Jr.
She will be
greatly missed by her grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, her many nieces and
nephews, and all her family and friends.
Memorials may be
made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Lee White Berry, 86, formerly of Ruleville,
Miss., died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at 2:29
p.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
Her funeral will
be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ray Funeral Home in
Cleveland, Miss., with Robert Rawson of the
Batesville Church of Christ officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service.
Burial will be
in Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville, Miss.

Home in Lincoln handled local arrangements.
Mrs. Berry
retired from North Sunflower County Hospital in
Ruleville, Miss., where she worked in the
dietary department.
She was born on
Aug. 8, 1918, in Webster County, Miss., to Jeff
and Maude Dunaway White. She married H.B.
"Buster" Berry on April 12, 1939. He
preceded her in death.
She is survived
by one daughter, Hilda "Sissy" (and
Terry) Walters of Lincoln; one son, Jeff
"Don" (and Diane) Berry of Angier,
N.C.; five grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
She was also
preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

LINCOLN -- Sonya
Alice Twist, 16, of Lincoln, died Sunday, April
3, 2005, at 3:37 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in
Springfield following an automobile crash
Saturday night.
Visitation will
be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Lincoln
Christian Church.
Her funeral will
be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the church,
with Tracy Thomas officiating.
A graveside
service at Union Cemetery, Washington, Ill.,
will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12.

Funeral Home in Lincoln handled arrangements.
Sonya was a
sophomore at Lincoln Community High School.
She was born
Dec. 21, 1988, in Manila, Philippine Islands, to
Matthew and (Bae) Sun Il Twist.
She is survived
by her father, of Lincoln; her mother, of
Lincoln; her maternal grandmother, Sun Jun Kim
of Korea; her paternal grandmother, Violet
Krause of Lincoln; four uncles and one aunt in
Korea; two uncles in the U.S., Bob (and Donna)
Twist of Elkhart and Milo (and Sherry) Twist of
Washington, Ill.; and several cousins.
She was preceded
in death by her maternal grandfather.
Her high school
activities included jazz band, marching band,
concert band, pep band, chorus, madrigals, IME
district band, Bradley University honor band for
freshman and sophomores, musical, Fine Arts
Club, French Club, Thespians, winter play
"The Boys Next Door," group
interpretation and performance in the round with
the speech team, Halloween Spectacular, tennis,
soccer, and track.
She was in the
first division in French horn and piano at
solo-ensemble contest and placed first in vocal
solo. She also auditioned for the Chicago
Symphony.
She was a member
of Lincoln Christian Church, where she
participated in the youth group, Good News
Publishing Company, drama ministry team,
inner-city mission team, Dominican mission team
and T.R.A.S.H.
