MOUNT PULASKI
-- Avest "Bud" Wilham, 76, of Mount Pulaski died Monday, Oct.
11, 2004, at 12:25 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
His funeral
will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be
in Steenbergen Cemetery.
Mr. Wilham
retired from construction work, and he retired from school bus
driving for Mount Pulaski Unit 23.
He was a
veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines.
He was born
Jan. 29, 1928, at Mount Pulaski to Jess Lee and Alice Cooley
Wilham. He married Julie Brooks in Lincoln on April 14,
1978.
He is survived
by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; one daughter, Rose Marie
Matheny of Neoga; one son, Donald “Buster” (and Glenna)
Wilham; one stepson, Richard L. (and Kim) Ball of Jerseyville;
one stepdaughter, Cathy (and Michael) McCubbin of Mount
Pulaski; 16 grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Wilham;
and his stepmother, Elsie Wilham.
He was a
member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church, and memorials may be
made to the church's building fund.

EASTON -- Thomas Edward
Tucker, 69, of Easton died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004,
at Capital Care in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7
p.m. Monday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. His funeral
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Easton
Cemetery.
Mr. Tucker had worked for the
Mason County Farm Service until 1969 and for TT's Red Fox
Grocery Store in 1969. He also worked for Dollar General in
Mason City, TT's Tavern in Easton and was employed by the
secretary of state the past five years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of
the Korean War.
He was born Jan. 7, 1935, in
Lincoln. He married Mary Carol List in 1964 in Easton. She
survives.
Other survivors are two sons,
Mark Tucker of Easton and Tad Tucker of Springfield; two
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, James
Tucker of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by
his mother, Wahnetta List.
He was a member of the Masonic
Lodge, New Salem Shrine Club, Jester's Lodge in Springfield
and the Easton Fire Department.
Memorial contributions may be
