MOUNT PULASKI -- Grace M. Miller, 76, of Mount Pulaski, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Greg Wooten officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker for her family.

She was born Aug. 27, 1928, at Flag Pond, Tenn., to Andrew and Nita Allen Shelton. She married Eugene R. Miller on July 3, 1947, in Lincoln. He died April 1, 2002.

She is survived by one son, Stanley G. Miller of Canton; two daughters, Joan (and Donny) Neal of Lincoln and Joyce (and Dwight) Smothers of Lincoln; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

She was a member of the Mount Pulaski Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Pulaski Paramedic Association.

LINCOLN -- James R. Schleder, 61, of Lincoln, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at 7:45 p.m. at University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago Medical Center, in Chicago.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nicholas Showalter officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Union Cemetery.

Mr. Schleder retired in 2002 from Lincoln Developmental Center, where he was a maintenance equipment operator.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was born March 29, 1943, in Lincoln to Marion and Lorraine Groth Schleder. He married Vickie Boyer on Aug. 26, 1990, in St. Louis, Mo.

He is survived by two sons, Rodney (and Missy) Schleder of Lincoln and Brett (and Suzanne) Schleder of Minneapolis, Minn.; two stepsons, Jason and Joshua Boyer of Lincoln; one stepdaughter, Kristin Liechty of Green Valley; one grandson, Zachary Schleder; one stepgrandson, Kyle Liechty; four stepgranddaughters, Samantha, Jacqueline, Alycia and Alexandrea Boyer; two brothers, Delmar Schleder of Chenoa and William Schleder of Maroa; and two sisters, Geneva Howard of Springfield and Janet Semple of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson, Bryson Boyer.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a member of American Legion Post 263, 40 et 8 and Teamsters Local 916.

LINCOLN -- Sheril D. "Smokey" Fannin, 73, of Lincoln died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Priest officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Fannin retired in 1992 from St. Gobain Container Corp. in Lincoln, where he was a line worker.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was born March 10, 1931, at Heyworth. He married Frieda McCoy in 1956. Later he married Pat Brazzell in Lincoln on May 4, 1969.  She died July 8, 1994.

Surviving family members are two sons, Marty (and Anselma "Smith") Fannin of Pontiac and David Seaman of Indiana; two daughters, Glenda Logan of Lincoln and Susan (and Doug) Newman of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Fannin; his father; and his grandparents who raised him, William Harrison and Myrtle Angeline McGuire Fannin.

He was an avid pool player, cook and music collector. He also enjoyed bowling.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart League, Walls, Miss., or St. Jude's Children's Research.

ATLANTA -- Bonnie J. Brooks, 77, of Atlanta, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at 5:20 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln, where she had resided since 2001.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Atlanta Christian Church, with Ralph O. Swarthout officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Quiram Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Brooks served as postmaster in Atlanta for several years. Before being employed by the U.S. Postal Service, she worked for Stetson China Company in Lincoln.

She was born Oct. 22, 1927, at Pittsfield to Charles and Leta Bain Shinn. She married Charles G. Brooks on April 4, 1945, at Henderson, Ky., He died Nov. 9, 1993.

She is survived by five children, Dennis (and Donna) Brooks of Blue Mound, Randy (and Shelly) Brooks of Atlanta, Gale (and Tom) Miller of Atlanta, Brenda (and Jeff) Gordon of Branson, Mo., and Angela (and Ed) Page of El Paso; one foster daughter, Wanda (and Hal) Gray of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren and one step-granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Basil Hendricks; and her stepmother, Mickey Shinn.

She was a member of the Atlanta American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America and the Atlanta United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta United Methodist Church or the Atlanta Christian Church.
