MOUNT PULASKI -- Kenneth "Kenny"
William Masset II, 34, of Mount Pulaski, died
Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 8:45 p.m. at St.
John's Hospice in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
at the funeral home, with John Robertson
officiating.
Burial, with military rites, will be in
Steenbergen Cemetery.
Mr. Masset was a truck driver and a U.S. Army
veteran.
He was born July 26, 1970, at Taylorville. He
married Lisa Hower on May 20, 2000, at Tower
Hill.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski;
one son, Trae Masset of Beason; his father,
Kenneth (and Nancy) Masset of Tower Hill; his
mother, Jill (and Larry) Gabriel of Mount
Pulaski; one stepbrother, David Hester of Pana;
his paternal grandmother, Orvillia Masset of
Stonington; his maternal grandmother, Janice
Denton of Mount Pulaski; and an uncle, Gary
Denton of Chestnut.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and
maternal grandfathers.
He was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian
Church and Suburban Teamsters of Northern
Illinois.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved
woodworking.
He was so full of life and will always be
remembered as an excellent, loving husband, dad
and son.
Memorials may be made to the Trae Masset
College Fund in care of the Farmer's Bank of
Mount Pulaski.

Charles B. Becherer Sr., 80, of Lincoln died
Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 5:20 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Visitation will
be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
A graveside
service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at
Glendale Cemetery in Washington, Ill.
Mr. Becherer had
owned and operated Becherer Jewelry Store in
Lincoln since 1960.
He served in the
U.S. Army in World War II.
He was born June
5, 1924, in Bristol, Tenn., to Francis X. and
Florence Blackman Becherer. He married Carol
White on Feb. 3, 1951, in Peoria.
Mr. Becherer is
survived by his wife of 54 years; two sons,
Charles B. Becherer Jr. and Robert E. Becherer,
both of Lincoln; and one brother, Robert S.
Becherer of Florida.
He was preceded
in death by his parents and two brothers.
He was a member
of Lincoln Elks Lodge 914 and a former member of
the Railsplitter Antique Car Club and Jaycees.
He graduated
from the Bradley School of Watchmaking at
Bradley University in Peoria.

Florence K. McCabe, 85, of Lincoln, died
Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 1:06 p.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will
be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral will
be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran
Church, with the Rev. Frank Pieper officiating.
Burial will be
in Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. McCabe
retired from the Lincoln Garment Factory and
Outlet Store.
She was born
Feb. 24, 1920, at Hartsburg to Carl Frederick
and Sophie Nagle Marsh. She married Calvin
McCabe on June 1, 1940, in Lincoln.
She is survived
by her husband, of Lincoln; one son, Rick (and
Brenda) McCabe of Lincoln; and one grandson,
Michael McCabe of Lincoln.
She was a member
of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion
Auxiliary Post 263.

JOLIET -- Robert
"Bob" Camden, 71, of Joliet, died
Monday, March 28, 2005, at 5:50 p.m. at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Joliet.
His funeral will
be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with John
Robertson officiating. Visitation will be from
noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be
in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mr. Camden was a
chemical engineer for Amoco Chemical Company.
He was a U.S.
Army veteran.
He was born Nov.
8, 1933, at Waynesville to William and Edna Pray
Camden. He married Hazel Kinmon Beghtol at Mount
Pulaski on April 23, 1973. His prior marriage
was to Patty Birk of California.
He is survived
by his wife, of Joliet; four daughters, Becky
Beghtol (and Cecil) Rumsey of Thompsonville,
Rhonda Camden of Minnesota, and Robin and
Rolynda Camden of California; three sons, Rodney
and Ronald Camden of California and Robert
Camden of Utah; numerous grandchildren,
including Wendi Humbert-Plunk of Elwood and
Tracy Humbert-Gump of Herrin; numerous
great-grandchildren, including Jesika and Jordan
Jule of Herrin, Taylor Gump of Herrin, Savannah
Sprandrell of Elwood, Olivia and Austin Plunk of
Elwood, Kristin Camden of California, and Riley
Camden of Utah; and one brother, Richard (and
Betty) Camden of Springfield.
He was preceded
in death by his parents, two brothers and one
sister.
He was a member
of American Legion Post 1080 and Moose Lodge
300, both in Joliet.

Joliet.

LINCOLN --
Roland F. Tibbs, 76, of Lincoln died Monday,
March 28, 2005, at 2:15 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will
be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at
10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with
Don Pankey officiating.
Burial, with
military rites, will be in Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Tibbs was an
inspector at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East
Peoria before he retired.
He was a U.S.
Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was born
Sept. 25, 1928, at New Holland to Daniel B. and
Lucy Faulkner Tibbs. He married Lottie Preston
in Lincoln on May 25, 1950. She died in 1984.
He is survived
by three sons, Gene (and Evelyn) Tibbs of San
Jose, Tom (and Shirley) Tibbs of Lincoln and
Todd (and Doris) Tibbs of Decatur; one daughter,
Linda (and James) Remlinger of Lincoln; 17
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 14
great-great-grandchildren.
He was also
preceded in death by two sons, nine brothers and
two sisters. He was the last of his immediate
family.
He was a member
of American Legion Post 672 in Middletown and
Eagles Lodge 2708 of Lincoln.

LINCOLN -- Nancy
A. Amberg, 68, of Lincoln, died Saturday, March
26, 2005, at 12:20 a.m. at her home.
Her funeral was
Wednesday morning at St. Peter Lutheran Church
in Emden, with the Rev. Frank Pieper
officiating. Visitation was at the church on
Tuesday and one hour before the service on
Wednesday.
Burial is in
Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.
Arrangements are
being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln.
Mrs. Amberg
retired from the Illinois comptroller's office
as an accountant. She had also been employed by
the Illinois Legislative Council and worked at
Cutler-Hammer.
She was born Nov. 30, 1936,
at Emden to Lawrence and Lillian Klokkenga
Kaesebier. She married Robert Amberg on June 20,
1961, in Lincoln.
She is survived by her
husband, of Lincoln; two daughters, Jane Ryan of
Lincoln and Mary Quisenberry (and Alan Burton)
of Grayslake; six grandchildren, Amanda
Quisenberry, Bridget Ryan, Alan Burton II,
Elizabeth Redding, Joe Ryan and Jenny Norris;
nine great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Loretta (and Wallace) Berglund of Rochester,
Minn.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; one son, William Quisenberry;
and one sister, Janet Jeckel.
She was a member of St.
Peter Lutheran Church of Emden and served as a
member of the church council for Immanuel
Lutheran Church and Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church in Lincoln. She was a member of the
Lincoln Police and Fire Commission, secretary
for the Illinois Democratic County Chairman's
Association, Logan County Democratic chairman
from 1985 to 2003, candidate for state
representative, candidate for Logan County clerk
and recorder, former president and board member
of the Senior Citizens of Logan County Oasis
center, former president and board member of the
Lincoln Woman's Club, former president of the
American Business Women's Association Kickapoo
Chapter, charter member of the Logan County
chapter of the Coalition of Citizens with
Disabilities in Illinois, and was involved with
community theater.

MOUNT PULASKI --
The Rev. Todd M. Singley, 53, of Mount Pulaski
died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at 9:40 a.m. at
Chestnut.
His body was
cremated.
A memorial
service will be on April 2 at 2 p.m. at the
First United Methodist Church in Mount Pulaski.
The Rev. Carol Andricks, the Rev. Martha Scott
and the Rev. Lora Zink will officiate.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski handled
arrangements.
The Rev. Singley
was an ordained clergyman, retired from ministry
with the Northern Illinois Conference of the
United Methodist Church.
He was born Aug.
22, 1951, in Lincoln to Melvin E. and Shirley J.
Logan Singley.
He is survived
by his parents, of Mount Pulaski; two sisters,
Rebecca (and John) Drake of Chestnut and Jane
(and Gary) DeWitt of Mount Pulaski; and a
longtime friend, David Zweifler of Frankfort.
He was preceded
in death by his paternal and maternal
grandparents.
In lieu of
flowers, the family requests that memorials be
made to The Human Rights Campaign or Hospice
Care of Illinois.
