MOUNT PULASKI -- Marcella
Hassebrock, 88, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at 2:20 p.m. at
Vonderlieth Living Center.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in Mount
Pulaski Cemetery.
Mrs. Hassebrock was a
homemaker.
She was born March 10, 1916,
at Andrew to Thomas and Mary Shyner Clancy. She married Vernon
Hassebrock in Springfield on Dec. 22, 1951.
She is survived by her husband
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski and a two-term past president
of the Mount Pulaski Women's Club.
Memorials may be made to Zion
Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski or the American Cancer
Society.

LINCOLN -- Minnie D. Bryson,
98, formerly of Cornland, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at 8:15
p.m. at the Christian Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Friday at the Cornland Christian Church, with Bill Shanle
officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the
service.
Burial will be in
Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Miss Bryson was employed by
the State Bank of Cornland for 62 years and served as vice
president on the board of directors.
She was born May 19, 1906, west of Cornland to John Harris
and Mary Olive Handlin Bryson.
She is survived by four nieces, Ruth (and Robert) Fuiten of
Mount Pulaski, B. Harlean (and Delmar) Veech of Cornland,
Carla (and Wayne) Clark of Lake Fork and Sheila (and Kent)
Anderson of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; two nephews, John (and Janet)
Cherry of Elkhart and Ed (and Marilyn) Cherry of Elkhart; two
half nieces, Thelma McKnight of Lincoln and Lois Carole Milner
of Chatsworth, Calif.; two half nephews, Edward Day of Green
Valley, Ariz., and Keith Day of North Carolina; several
great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces
and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one
sister, three half brothers and one half sister.
She was a member of the Cornland Christian Church, a
50-year member of the Latham chapter of Eastern Star and a
Logan County Farm Bureau member. She was treasurer for the
Lake Fork Community Center and was on the board of directors
for the Cornland/Lake Fork Water District.
She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville.

Lincoln.

LINCOLN -- Charles Edward
Pegram, 73, a lifelong Lincoln resident, died Friday, Jan. 14,
2005, at 11:56 p.m. in the emergency room at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m.
Tuesday at Peasley Funeral Home. Dr. Tom Ewald of Lincoln
Christian College and Seminary will officiate. Visitation will
be two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Union
Cemetery.
Mr. Pegram was the owner of
Pegram Oil Company and from 1966 to 1991 served as the road
commissioner of East Lincoln Township. His wish was to be
remembered for being responsible for paving 50 miles of
country roads in the township.
He served in the U.S. Army
from 1951 to 1953.
He was born Oct. 31, 1931, to
Thomas McConnell Pegram and Ruth Keys Pegram. He married
Marilyn Madigan on June 19, 1955.
He is survived by his wife;
three daughters, Julia (and Mark) Gerardot of Lincoln, Dr.
Lori Pegram of Bloomington and Elizabeth Leake of Sycamore;
one son, Dan (and Susan and) Pegram, on the Pegram farm; six
grandchildren, Jarrod Gerardot, Luke Gerardot, Evan Leake,
Georgia Leake, Devin Pegram and Sam Pegram; and two brothers,
Alan of Mount Pulaski and Rick of Tucson, Ariz.
He was a proud member of the
American Truck Historical Society and the Land of Lincoln
Antique Tractor Club.
His passion for history made
him an avid reader. He loved Irish music, good food and
telling one of "Grandpa's stories." In retirement, he and his
wife of almost 50 years loved to watch the birds in their
yard, the deer at Madigan State Park, and the eagles and
tugboats along the Illinois River.
He graduated from Lincoln High
School and attended Lincoln College.

Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln.
