Equip for Equality suing state
SPRINGFIELD — A statewide advocacy group for the disabled filed a federal class-action lawsuit Thursday against the state for placing developmentally disabled residents in nursing homes instead of community settings, claiming the practice violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.
