+ + + + + + + SUMMER HOURS – During the summer months the church/school office will be only be open Monday – Thursday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a short closing over the lunch hour. The office will be CLOSED ON FRIDAYS. If the office will be closed at other times we will try to have those times posted in the bulletin. SUNDAY SCHOOL – Starting Sunday, June 28, there will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL until Sunday, July 26 (the Sunday after VBS ends). The Adult Bible Class will continue to meet on these Sundays. LUTHERAN HOUR - You can listen to The Lutheran Hour on WLLM - 1370 AM on Sundays at both 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Zion, MP is one of the sponsoring churches of these broadcasts. MITES - There will be an ingathering of mites for Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) on Sunday, July 5. There will be large mite boxes set out at both the main and the wing entrances. To find out more about the mite projects go to www.cidlwml.org. ENROLL NOW FOR V.B.S. !!! – Children are invited to attend this summer’s Gadget’s Garage. Zion Lutheran Church invites children to enter G.A.D.G.E.T.’s Garage and discover that God’s Always Doing Great, Exciting Things. At Gadget’s Garage, children will witness the wonder and workmanship of Jesus, our Savior, through five incredible Bible stories. Gadget’s Garage is for children ages 3 to those entering 6th grade. It takes place on July 20-24 from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. An enrollment form can be found on our website or you can call 792-5715 or 792-5965 to register. Voters’ Assembly Quarterly Meeting Sunday, July 12 following Worship The Church Council strongly encourages everyone to attend this meeting as there are a few necessary items to vote on. If you are currently attending church on Thursday evenings, please consider coming to this meeting so that we can meet our quorum. DISCUSSION - There will be a discussion about the Morton Building proposal on Tuesday, July 14th at 7:00 p m. Please plan to attend and bring your questions, opinions and thoughts to share. NAOMI-RUTH SOCIETY – The next meeting of the Naomi-Ruth Society LWML will meet Thursday, July 9 at 7:15 p.m. (or as soon as Thurs. eve. Worship is over) at church. Kay Cross will supply dessert. We hope to see you there! QUILTING FOR LWR –The Naomi-Ruth Society is once again making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and invites anyone to come and help. Can you tie a knot? Come on Monday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. to help us tie the 12 quilts we have ready. It would be helpful if you brought a small pair of scissors. If you’d like to help us get quilts ready for assembly come on Friday, July 17 starting at 8:30 a.m. Come anytime if you can’t come first thing. Bring a sack lunch. Those coming should bring scissors and if portable, your sewing machine. Thanks in advance for your help. ORDINATION/INSTALLATION - The members of Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln cordially invite you to celebrate with them the Ordination of Candidate David Ramirez to the office of the Holy Ministry and his Installation as Assistant Pastor of their congregation. The service will take place at Zion Lincoln on Sunday, July 12, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. A sandwich and dessert reception will follow in Wittenberg Fellowship Hall. Please go and rejoice with them in this blessed occasion. CID DAY AT THE BALLPARK - CID Day at Busch Stadium will be Saturday, September 19 with the St. Louis Cardinals playing the Chicago Cubs. The game starts at 3:10 p.m. Tickets are $25 each (a $12 discount). Ordering begins July 4th. (Orders postmarked prior to July 4 will not be processed until August 1.) If you want to sit together with other Zion members, turn your order into the church office by Sunday, July 5th so that the orders can be mailed together on Monday, July 6th. Scrapbookers - Please plan to attend the following dates for Scrapbooking and fellowship - ADULTS ONLY July 10th 3:00p.m. – Midnight & July 31st 3:00p.m. – Midnight in the Zion Cafeteria – Mt. Information for the upcoming 2009 CID Convention is now on the website. FATHER’S DAY WINNER - The winner of the Evangelism's Father's Day give-away was Jim McCormick. He received a travel cart full of lots of goodies, gift cards and even a pair of St. Louis Cardinal tickets. Did you know…that the Zion Lutheran Elkhart Center gym can be rented for $25 per hour for family events or private parties? The kitchen/cafeteria can be rented for reunions, graduation parties, etc. for $50 per event. Members can rent a single room for birthday parties for $20.00 per event. Meeting rooms with tables and/or chairs may be rented for $50 per event. Several families and organizations have already enjoyed leasing space at ZLEC. We encourage our Zion members to do the same! PTL COOKBOOKS - There are 600 delicious recipes in each book! Only $10.00 each!! Proceeds benefit Zion P.T.L. Available in the church office. YOU CAN RECYCLE YOUR OLD Portals of Prayers and Bibles. There is a collection box in the wing where you can recycle your old Portals of Prayer and Bibles that are in good condition. The Naomi-Ruth Society will be gathering these materials to give to a mission that sends them overseas.
