Veterans were remembered in Mount Pulaski.

The Mount Pulaski Scroggin-Gee VFW Post 777 conducted its 25th annual distribution of Christmas gifts to U.S. armed forces veterans -- 16 this year -- in the Mount Pulaski Vonderlieth Living Center and adjoining Vonderlieth condos. Pictured here is Louise Voelker, former Unit 777 Auxiliary president for many years, and Roger Bates, Post 777 commander, with U.S. Navy WWII veteran Lt. Emmett Shellhammer. Like all of the veterans, Shellhammer has interesting stories to tell of his experiences. And thanks to the Mount Pulaski post, his service was not forgotten this Christmas season.
